April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in seventh grade. This sparked the interest of her. When she was in seventh grade April started taking piano and guitar lessons. It sparked her interest in writing songs. The year she turned 14 was when she spent a lot of her time making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. The following months, she began taking writing excursions together with her dad on trips to LA as well as NY. April began including other topics in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. She was not born with a left hand, and that is what makes her who she is. It's just not the full story. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her handicap. But it also doesn't insist on the issue. It's a reminder. It's this: We all have multiple identities and are far more complicated than we believe we are. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance is what defines my character. My goal is not to influence disabilities because I've got so much more to offer." This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I go about the same way as I always do and have developed my own methods to adjust. It's a big aspect of my existence, therefore it's important to discuss it. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay moving forward with self-acceptance. However, she acknowledges going through phases of her body at times being unsure about wearing certain types of clothing which showed off her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook with pride. Self-love she said is a process. "I believe that you'll ever get in that place," she said. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never reach your destination. I think that having people around you who really are aware of you and know your heart is really important as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you worrying about?
